WabiFace Akikusa brings the gold of an autumn lacquer box to your Wear OS smartwatch.
🍂 AKIKUSA — THE GRASSES OF AUTUMN
Bush clover, bellflower and silvered pampas plumes are laid in gold across black urushi lacquer, with pearls set along the stems as dew. Autumn grasses have decorated Japanese lacquerware for a thousand years, and the dial keeps their asymmetry: the planting rises on the right, and the bare lacquer on the left is as much a part of the picture.
⚙️ AN OPEN HEART AT SEVEN
A round opening in the lower left is cut clean through the dial. Behind it a watch movement turns on jewelled bridges — two wheels, one geared to the other, running whenever the face is analog.
💻 AND A CIRCUIT BOARD WHEN DIGITAL
Switch to digital and the same opening shows a gold-on-black circuit board instead. The processor breathes and two indicators blink. Mechanical time, then electronic time, in the same window.
⌚ ANALOG OR DIGITAL
Analog gives pale silver hands, a sweeping second hand and a two line date window. Digital gives a large time with AM/PM and running seconds beside it. Twelve applied gold batons and the pearls stay in place in both, so the dial is always the same object.
🔋 POWER RESERVE
A power reserve register at half past four sweeps from E to F with the watch battery, exactly as a mechanical reserve indicator does. Tap it to open the battery screen. It can be switched off.
⌚ TWO DATA SLOTS, YOUR SIZE
Two recessed wells show steps and heart rate by default, and can be changed to other information you prefer. Choose Large, Medium or Small — or turn them off, and a gold bellflower crest is set into the well instead of leaving it empty.
🎨 FOUR METALS
The figures in the wells can be set in gold, pearl, silver or bronze.
🌙 AMBIENT MODE
Optimised for always-on display. The lacquer, the movement and the data step aside; the twelve gold batons and dimmed hands remain, readable at a glance while the screen stays gentle on battery.
